From the mind of David J. Rosen, Apple TV’s ‘Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed’ is a dark comedy murder mystery series that centers on a recently divorced soccer mom named Paula, who finds herself caught in a web of conspiracy and murder investigation as she tries to get her life back on track. When her romantic entanglement with a camboy named Trevor leads to a murder, a homicide investigation is launched by Detective Sofia Gonzalez and Detective Baxter.
Due to Paula’s mysterious and suspicious past, the detectives find it hard to trust her. Meanwhile, she is also in the middle of a custody battle with her ex-husband, Karl. Her coworkers in the fact-checking department at Margin also make her life difficult, as they dig deep into her relationship with the camboy. Paula’s past life in Portland and her new life in New York are depicted using varying settings, highlighting the changes in her life. For instance, the hustle and bustle of NYC symbolizes the commotion in the protagonist’s life.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed Filming Locations
‘Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed’ is filmed primarily across New York, especially in New York City. According to reports, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the whodunnit series got underway in early August 2025 under the working title ‘Starcams’ and went on for more than three months before wrapping in the second week of November of the same year. The casting agency, Waldron Casting, extended their gratitude towards “incredible stand-ins and all the amazing actors that we hired to work in the background who helped bring this world to life!”
New York City, New York
A major chunk of ‘Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed’ was lensed across the Big Apple, which is home to five boroughs. As per reports, the cast and crew members were spotted taping pivotal sequences in Queens, considered to be one of the most linguistically and ethnically diverse areas in the world. To be specific, in September 2025, they set up camp near Bliss Street and 43rd Avenue in the borough in order to shoot several important outdoor scenes for the Apple TV production. In November 2025, Tatiana Maslany and the rest of the cast and crew also took over the parks located in the Sunnyside neighborhood in the western portion of Queens. The Astoria neighborhood in Queens also hosted the production of the David J. Rosen creation.
In addition, the filming unit of the murder mystery series also utilized the bustling streets of Brooklyn. It is likely that the popular Brooklyn Bridge, the Brooklyn Museum, Downtown Brooklyn, and Barclays Center make an appearance in the backdrop of a few exterior shots. In the establishing shots of New York City, you might also notice a few other landmarks and buildings in the backdrop, including the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, the UN Headquarters, the Verrazzano–Narrows Bridge, the Empire State Building, and more. Besides the comedy series, NYC has served as a primary production location for many movies and shows, such as ‘The Prestige,’ ‘The Usual Suspects,’ ‘Eyes Wide Shut,’ ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ ‘Dexter: Resurrection,’ and ‘Murder, She Wrote.’
