Serving as the 12th film in the ‘Sniper’ film franchise and a direct sequel to ‘Sniper: The Last Stand,’ ‘Sniper: No Nation’ is an action thriller movie helmed by Trevor Calverley. When the US government disavows the Global Response & Intelligence Team (G.R.I.T.) after a failed mission in Costa Verde, the ace sniper Brandon Beckett and the rest of the operatives are labeled as terrorists. As he is hunted by his own country, he goes off the grid and lies low until he finds out that his entire ally group, the Phoenix Rebellion, has been eliminated by a group of mercenaries called the Iron Legion, which is run by Costa Verde’s corrupt and evil Prime Minister.
Filled with a hunger for vengeance, Brandon teams up with his father, Thomas Beckett, Agent Zero, and a few other rebels to rescue the fellow soldiers scheduled for execution. With time running out, the Becketts lead the rescue mission against impossible odds and ruthless mercenaries. The high-octane film is set against a wide range of backdrops that shift as Brandon and company embark on a high-stakes mission across various terrains.
Sniper: No Nation Filming Locations
Production on ‘Sniper: No Nation’ took place in South Africa, especially in and around Cape Town. According to reports, principal photography of the action-packed thriller commenced in January 2025 and continued for a couple of months before concluding in late March of the same year. Chad Michael Collins, who plays the role of Brandon Beckett, announced the wrap of the production, stating, “Capping off our @sniper_films #SNIPER 12 shoot by uncapping this homebrewed Belgian ale from Director @trevorcalverley 🎯🍻That’s a wrap on our latest entry from @sonypictures & @blueicepictures, details TBA…cheers!”
Cape Town, South Africa
Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘Sniper: No Nation’ were reportedly lensed in the legislative capital of South Africa — Cape Town. The cast and crew members set up camp in various streets and neighborhoods of the city to bring the action-packed tale to life. They also seemingly took over real-life establishments and residences to tape key indoor scenes. For shooting the exterior portions, the production team specifically went to the Foreshore Freeway Bridge, which is also known as the Unfinished Bridge.
You are also likely to spot several notable buildings and landmarks in the backdrop of aerial or establishing shots, such as the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town City Hall, Signal Hill, Devil’s Peak, the Portside Tower, 1 Thibault Square, and Atterbury House. Over the years, Cape Town has hosted the production of numerous movies and TV shows. Besides ‘Sniper: No Nation,’ other notable projects that feature the city’s landscape include ‘They Will Kill You,’ ‘Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die,’ ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ ‘The Brothers Grimsby,’ ‘The Terminal List,’ and ‘Blood Drive.’
