Developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, Apple TV’s ‘Ted Lasso’ is a sports comedy-drama series that revolves around the titular character and his coaching career with the soccer team AFC Richmond. At the end of season 3, Ted leaves Richmond and returns to the States to stay closer to his son and ex-wife. In the fourth season, the yearning moves Ted to return to Richmond, where he is given the opportunity to coach a second division women’s soccer team and lead them to promotion.
Taking on his biggest and toughest challenge yet, the coach instills optimism into the players and encourages them to take chances. The heartfelt soccer-oriented tale of season 4 initially unfolds in Kansas City, where Ted stays closer to his family. The setting shifts, and the familiar terrain of Richmond features in the backdrop as Ted takes on a new challenge in his career.
Ted Lasso Season 4 Filming Locations
‘Ted Lasso’ season 4 was filmed in Missouri and England, particularly in the Kansas City metropolitan area and London. Principal photography for the fourth iteration reportedly commenced in July 2025 under the working title ‘Nando’ and went on for several months before wrapping up in January 2026. Jeremy Swift, who portrays Leslie Higgins, shared a few words upon the conclusion of the season 4 shooting. He stated, “We just wrapped TED LASSO S04. We started in hot hazy sun in Kansas City (so hot my specs steamed up when I went outside) last July and ended in very wet London end of January! Was there on day one and the last day. And in between. Always a privilege to work with this cast and crew.”
Kansas City Metropolitan Area, Missouri
To depict Ted’s life in the States after the conclusion of season 3, the production team of ‘Ted Lasso’ season 4 set up camp in the Kansas City metropolitan area. To be specific, the cast and crew took over the Gates Bar-B-Q at 3205 Main Street in Kansas City to lens important indoor sequences. The Country Club Plaza at 4706 Broadway Boulevard also served as a prominent production location as the filming unit was spotted taping key portions in and around the Johnny Was clothing store at 320 Nichols Road. The store was redressed and renamed to “Dazzle Me Moi.” As per reports, various portions were shot during a Kansas City Current match at the CPKC Stadium, located at 1460 East Front Street.
Furthermore, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum at 1616 East 18th Street in Kansas City and McKeever’s Market & Eatery at 840 Northwest Pryor Road in the city of Lee’s Summit hosted the production of a few season 4 scenes. In addition, Jason Sudeikis and the rest of the cast and crew members utilized the facilities and premises of the Swope Soccer Village at 6310 Lewis Road in Kansas City. In Lee’s Summit, the areas near Northeast Scruggs Road and Northeast Blackwell Road also feature in a few scenes. The filming unit of ‘Ted Lasso’ season 4 also traveled a bit east of Kansas City to the city of Blue Springs, where they recorded numerous important scenes involving Ted in and around the Chapman Farms neighborhood.
London, England
After completing the shooting process in the Kansas City area, the cast and crew members of ‘Ted Lasso’ season 4 returned to their old stomping grounds — London and the surrounding areas — in August 2025. For taping indoor scenes, especially the locker room sequences, the production team made the most of the amenities at West London Film Studios on Springfield Road in the town of Hayes. It is home to six sound stages, production offices, an on-site cafeteria, parking facilities, and 24-hour security, making it a favorable filming destination for a wide range of projects.
The home of Hayes & Yeading Football Club, SkyEx Community Stadium on Beaconsfield Road in Hayes, once again served as a key production location as the filming unit used its training ground and practice pitch to shoot training scenes. Other local establishments and businesses in and around London that feature in the fourth season include The Prince’s Head pub at 28 The Green in Richmond, Scott’s seafood restaurant at 20 Mount Street in London, and Alketa Hair salon at 6 Paved Court in Richmond. In an interview with Film London, the Supervising Location Manager Eleri Coulten talked about Richmond’s importance in the show.
“For ‘Ted Lasso,’ Richmond isn’t simply a backdrop; it’s a character in its own right. Audiences have formed a genuine connection with its streets, the Green, and the local businesses, to the point where fans now travel from all over the world to experience those places for themselves. Being recognizable is a big part of what makes the show feel authentic and relatable. That’s something you simply can’t recreate with a computer-generated environment,” she explained. To make the filming a smooth process in a busy location like Richmond, the production team had conversations with the locals and found practical solutions to their concerns, and maintained a positive relationship throughout.
In the same interview, when Eleri was asked to describe her filming experience in Richmond, she stated, “Over the course of the season, we filmed in Richmond several times and often had to make last-minute requests. That is only possible when you have built relationships based on trust, and I felt that my team and I were able to do that. Ultimately, it is the team on the ground during filming who make sure we deliver what we have promised, protect the needs of businesses and residents, and give the production the creative space it needs. I am incredibly grateful to them, as well as to the filmrichmond, the location owners, and all the residents and businesses who accommodated us and made it possible for Ted Lasso to return to Richmond for a successful Season 4 shoot.”
