Where Was The Breadwinner Filmed? All Shooting Locations

In the Eric Appel directorial, ‘The Breadwinner,’ Nate Bargatze and Mandy Moore star as Nate Wilcox and Katie Wilcox, respectively — a married couple with three young daughters. Nate has been serving as the family’s breadwinner for several years by working as a salesman. Meanwhile, Katie manages all the commotion that comes with running a household with love and efficiency. However, the couple switches roles when Katie’s household invention gives her the opportunity of a lifetime — a Shark Tank deal, for which she must take a month-long business trip.

Now, with the ultimate supermom wife away from home, Nate must don the garb of a stay-at-home dad. Since he has little to no experience handling his daughters’ day-to-day needs, the salesman realizes he was way over his head when he thought running a household would be easy. The family comedy movie features a talented ensemble cast, comprising Nate Bargatze, Mandy Moore, Colin Jost, Zach Cherry, Martin Herlihy, and Kate Berlant. The comical tale of familial responsibilities unfolds at and around the Wilcox residence as Nate tries to manage the household in his wife, Katie’s, absence.

The Breadwinner Filming Locations

Production on ‘The Breadwinner’ took place entirely in Georgia, specifically in Metro Atlanta. Under the working title ‘Radius,’ principal photography for the Nate Bargatze starrer commenced in May 2025. Several weeks of shooting later, it was wrapped up in June of the same year. After the conclusion of the filming process, Birdie Borria’s parents shared a few words on her behalf about her experience. They stated, “Birdie’s time spent out there shooting was one of her absolute favorites. The entire cast and entire crew was seriously amazing. @charlotte.a.tucker and @stellagracefitzgerald became Birdie’s soul sisters and their bond is so special.”

Metro Atlanta, Georgia

To fill the visual canvas of ‘The Breadwinner,’ the production team utilized the locales of Metro Atlanta, which comprises the city of Atlanta and surrounding areas. Several streets and neighborhoods of the county seat of Fulton County, Atlanta, served as the filming destinations for the comedy movie. In the establishing shots, you are likely to notice a few popular landmarks and buildings located in the city, such as the Georgia State Capitol, Centennial Olympic Park, Bank of America Plaza, the Fox Theatre, Truist Plaza, and 191 Peachtree Tower. For the purpose of filming, the cast and crew of ‘The Breadwinner’ also set up camp in the city of Fayetteville, situated a few miles south of downtown Atlanta.

In particular, multiple pivotal indoor sequences were taped utilizing the amenities and facilities of the Trilith Studios at 400 Veterans Parkway in Fayetteville. Home to 30 different purpose-built sound stages, the film studio also offers open workshops and production offices. Its backlot spans 400 acres and includes city streets, fields, and a visual effects pad. All these amenities make Trilith Studios a filmmaker’s ideal destination. Apart from the Eric Appel directorial, Metro Atlanta has hosted the production of many notable movies and TV shows over the years, including ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green,’ ‘Miracles from Heaven,’ ‘The Three Stooges,’ ‘The War with Grandpa,’ ‘House of Payne,’ ‘It’s Not Like That,’ and ‘Young Dylan.’
