Fortunately, the Taylors survive the violent ambush and recover in the hospital. After recovering, Melony notices that her husband is behaving differently. While trying to confront him, she can’t help but question her reality and the love he once had for her. With time, Melony realizes that Luke might be hiding something far more sinister. Where Was The Him I Knew Filmed?
Production on ‘The Him I Knew’ took place in Georgia, specifically in the sprawling city of Atlanta. According to reports, principal photography for the thriller film got underway in the last week of October 2025 and went on for less than two weeks before wrapping up in the second week of November of the same year. The director, Rich Lowe, was overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the project. As the post-production began, he took to social media to elaborate on the experience.
He added, “All of the incredible and experienced crew that came on at a discounted rate because they believed in the project. All the Actors who delivered incredible performances beyond we saw coming. We wrote this film with ideas of how scenes would look in our minds and they all exceeded our wildest dreams. Things went wrong during filming but everyone stayed calm and they always worked out. This was meant to be. This was destiny.”
Atlanta, Georgia
Located in Georgia’s Fulton County, the city of Atlanta served as the primary production location for ‘The Him I Knew.’ From the looks of it, the filming unit took over quite a few real-life residential buildings and businesses to lens indoor sequences. They also set up camp in one of Atlanta’s residential neighborhoods, where they shot multiple key exterior portions.
The aerial and establishing shots of the bustling city are also likely to feature several notable and popular buildings and landmarks, including the Bank of America Plaza, Truist Plaza, the Woodruff Arts Center, the Georgia Aquarium, 1180 Peachtree, and the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead. Apart from the Rich Lowe directorial, the Gate City has also hosted the production of many other movies and TV shows, such as ‘American Made,’ ‘They Cloned Tyrone,’ ‘One Spoon of Chocolate,’ ‘No Good Deed,’ ‘Lovecraft Country,’ and ‘The Other Black Girl.’

Before breaking into the film industry, Giovanni studied Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College, earning his MFA while also working in improvisation on various house teams. Segen is also a multi-talented individual who served as the DOP, producer, and writer on ‘Seven Miles from Forever.’

Giovanni DeVal essays the character of Luke Taylor in ‘The Him I Knew.’ He is widely recognized for his portrayals of Bart in ‘FBI: Most Wanted,’ Martin in ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime,’ Jake in ‘How (Not) to Date Your Neighbor,’ Bartender in ‘Elsbeth,’ Jace Parker in ‘Not All About You,’ and Surveillance Merc in ‘The Equalizer.’ Giovanni also features in a few movies, such as ‘How to Live Your Best Death’ and ‘Goodish.’

In the psychological thriller, Segen Gebremariam portrays Melony Taylor, Luke’s wife, who tries to uncover the truth behind her husband’s changed behavior. With multiple short films to her credits, like ‘Catch’ and ‘Heartbeat,’ Segen showcases her acting prowess in ‘Seven Miles from Forever’ as Feaven Omer, ‘The Love Between Us’ as Cynthia, ‘The Network’ as Kristin, and ‘Housewives Murder Pact’ as Ella Trawley.
