From the mind of Nicôle Lecky, Paramount+’s ‘Wild Cherry’ is a British thriller drama series that explores mother-daughter bonds, friendships, and the perils of social media through the tale of two best friends and their daughters. Lorna is a self-made, successful mixed Black entrepreneur, while her best friend Juliet comes from a wealthy family in the gated community where they both reside. Lorna’s daughter, Grace, and Juliet’s daughter, Allegra, who are also best friends, attend an exclusive private school in the town of Richford Lake.
Their picture-perfect lives are upended when the two teenage girls find themselves in a shocking scandal at school, resulting in Lorna and Juliet to make some touch choices and take sides that put their friendship in jeopardy. The narrative is set in the gated community of the fictional town of Richford Lake, where only the rich and privileged reside. However, underneath the facade of a perfect town filled with luxurious properties lies the dark truth about the community.
Wild Cherry Filming Locations
The shooting for ‘Wild Cherry’ is conducted entirely in England, specifically in Surrey and London. According to reports, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the British series commenced in October 2024 and went on for several months before concluding in early March 2025. Upon the conclusion of the production for season 1, one of the cast members, Katarina Čas, took to social media and stated, “It’s a wrap on ‘Wild Cherry’🍒 It was a joy working with such kind, talented and fun people – cast and crew ❤️ And I’ve met some amazing ladies on this shoot.”
Surrey, England
Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘Wild Cherry’ were taped in the ceremonial county of Surrey, which provides plenty of backdrops that complement the setting of the fictional town of Richford Lake. The executive producer, Elizabeth Kilgarriff, intended to make the fictional place feel “like a real place, with a clear sense of how the houses are connected to each other – both inside and outside the private estate – and within the wider town,” she told Country and Town House. Thus, the production team took over the Bel Air Surrey Hills, nestled within Surrey Hills. Spread across 14 acres, the modern Californian style luxury home offers six bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one dining room, one formal drawing room, a swimming pool, and ample parking space. They also set up camp in various other luxurious houses in different towns and villages across Surrey.
Elizabeth elaborated, “Each of the houses in ‘Wild Cherry’ was carefully picked to reflect the personality and life of our lead characters. We didn’t want this privileged world to be full of identikit, generic big houses, but for each location to almost be considered as a character in itself.” Praising the work of the project’s design team, she added, “The locations were all dressed by our design team, but we intentionally chose houses where the interiors were already beautifully decorated in ways that reflected our characters and meant that they already had layers of realness that work so well on camera.” She revealed that the only property they had to “undress” was the TikTok house, which served as a major filming site for a party scene in the first episode.
London, England
The production team of ‘Wild Cherry’ also traveled to the capital of the United Kingdom and England — London — where they lensed several key portions. As per reports, they set up camp mostly on the south west fringe of London, filled with lush greenery and luxurious properties, ideally standing in for the fictional town of Richford Lake. Other notable movies and TV shows filmed in London include ‘The Drama,’ ‘Wuthering Heights,’ ‘Alice and Steve,’ and ‘Death in Paradise.’
